Discovering Hope Inc was founded by Anthony T. Cole, who drew inspiration from his grandmother, the late Octavia Hollie. It was established April 25, 2024,

His grandmother’s struggles with financial limitations and reliance on food assistance programs shaped his understanding of community needs.
As a child, Anthony accompanied his grandmother to various locations to collect food boxes, an experience that he did not fully comprehend at the time. It was only later, through conversations with his mother, that he learned about the financial hardships faced by his grandmother. With limited income after paying essential bills, she often had little left for groceries. This realization instilled in him a desire to ensure that no family member or community elder would have to face similar challenges alone.
Discovering Hope Inc is deeply rooted in addressing the needs of the elderly and those who have been overlooked in society. The organization aims to provide support and resources to individuals who are struggling financially, particularly focusing on seniors who have historically paved the way for future generations but may now find themselves in vulnerable positions.
Values of Discovering Hope Inc revolve around compassion, community service, and empowerment. The organization seeks to break chains of poverty and despair by providing necessary resources and support systems that can change lives for the better. Anthony Cole is a native of Johnson City, TN. Anthony is a graduate of Science Hill High. He has been employee with Frontier Health as a Site Director of the Mental Health Housing Services, since 2013. He is the founder of Discovering Hope Inc. Anthony’s passion for the community and in particular our elderly population is the driving force that compelled him to establish Discovering Hope Inc.
Brooke Saddler is a native of Kannapolis, NC. Where she attended and graduated from A. L. Brown High School. She achieved a significant milestone by earning her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Western Carolina University. Brooke’s passion is making a tangible impact in the community.
Norma “Susie” Inman is a native of Johnson City, TN. She graduated from Science Hill High School and furthered by obtaining a degree in legal assistance and office management from Droughs Junior College. Susie’s life passion revolves around service to others. She is actively involved in various community organizations and initiatives, showcasing her dedication to making a positive impact on those around her.
Wesley Jerome Ward is a native of Boone, NC. In 2014, he acquired an associate of science degree from North East State Community College. On May 7, 2016, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University. He is renowned motivational speaker. Throughout his life, Wesley has been committed to sharing his love, passion, and heart with the nation.
Derius Jordan Bowen is a native of Marion, Virginia. He attended and graduated from Marion High School, where he learned life lessons. Derius’ passion for music has opened doors for partnering with organizations throughout the nation.
